As dark clouds lingered in the background of the Bristol Motor Speedway, the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series took to the high banks for the second practice of the weekend.
Roles were reversed from first practice yesterday where Kyle Busch finished second and Erik Jones paced first practice. Today, Busch paced the field with Jones finished second. Busch’s teammate Denny Hamlin was third followed by Kevin Harvick and Dale Earnhardt Jr. roundeing out the top-5.
Only two incidents highlighted the morning. The first consisted of Ricky Stenhouse Jr. going into the wall. Stenhouse’s contact was heavy enough that he will be going to a backup car. Kyle Larson spun at the end of practice, but made no contact with the outside wall.
