Action sports star and stunt performer Travis Pastrana, who made brief stints in NASCAR from 2012 through to 2015, will make his return to the sport later this year.
Pastrana will compete in his third NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway driving for Niece Motorsports in the No. 45 Chevrolet. Prior to competing in the race in September, Pastrana will get some time behind the wheel of the No. 45 during a test at Charlotte Motor Speedway this week.
Niece Motorsports is a new team to the Truck Series, competing in its first full-time season this year. In three starts, T.J. Bell has gotten the team its best finish at Atlanta Motor Speedway where he brought the truck home in the 17th position.
Pastrana’s last Truck Series appearance came in the 2015 race at Las Vegas where he finished 16th driving for the now defunct NTS Motorsports team. He also has 42 starts in the NASCAR XFINITY Series, the bulk of which came with Roush-Fenway Racing, where he scored a career best finish of ninth at Richmond International Raceway.
