The NASCAR XFINITY Series heads to Iowa Speedway this weekend, one of Blake Koch’s best tracks on the circuit.
Last season, Koch finished 13th in both races, a career best at the track. He also get a best start of 13th coming in August. Coming off of a 17th-place finish last weekend at Michigan, Koch will try to continue the momentum into Iowa.
“We were really fast last time we visited Iowa, but just missed our race setup. We are bringing a different race package this year and I’m super excited to get on track to test it out,” Koch said. “I love XFINITY standalone races, especially at short tracks like Iowa Speedway. I have a good feeling about this weekend and would love nothing more than to take home our first top-five finish for our No. 11 LeafFilter Gutter Protection team.”
Koch currently matches his car number in the points standings where he sits 11th, 197 points behind Elliott Sadler who took the points lead last weekend from Justin Allgaier. Koch is currently in the NASCAR XFINITY Series playoffs with 13 races to go in the regular season.
On Saturday night, the key for the XFINITY regulars will be stage points and playoff points. Without the Cup regulars in the field there is a lot more opportunity not only for extra points but for a race win.
