Austin Cindric heads to Eldora Speedway hoping to impress a new sponsor he has on board this weekend for the Aspen Dental Dirt Derby at Eldora Speedway. Fitzgerald Glider Kits joins Brad Keselowski Racing and Cindric in one of the most popular races of the season as NASCAR returns to its roots on dirt.
It will be the Tennessee-based company’s first venture into the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. They will sponsor Cindric again in another race to be determined. The company has sponsored both Keselowski himself and Joey Logano in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series, an XFINITY Series race at Bristol and IndyCar drivers Josef Newgarden and Juan Pablo Montoya.
“I’m really excited about Fitzgerald being on our No. 19 Ford F-150 at Eldora,” Cindric said in a team release. “The truck looks really cool and all those guys really understand racing and the excitement around it.”
Cindric enters Eldora coming off of a career-best fourth-place finish at Kentucky. In his 17th start, Cindric makes his first laps on dirt which is something a little out of the ordinary. His teammate, however, is back in his comfort zone. Chase Briscoe has had much success on dirt, allowing Cindric to lean on his teammate for advice.
“Eldora is going to be my most obvious challenge for this year, and it completes my driver portfolio in stock cars,” he said. “I think our number one priority is to have a clean, solid night and maybe get a surprise result out of it. I think the biggest advantage I’ll have at Eldora is my teammate, Chase Briscoe, and I’ll be able to lean on him.”
Cindric currently sits 11th in points and will look to pull some stage and playoff points out of his hat as the regular season hits its downhill stride toward the playoffs.
