Following a practice crash on Friday, Austin Cindric had to move to a backup truck which put the driver of the No. 19 LTi Printing Ford F-150 a little bit behind the other drivers going into Saturday’s Overton’s 150. Cindric was able to qualify the truck in 17th and worked his way up to the front, earning stage points in stage two after finishing ninth.
“Today was probably maxed out on how we could’ve done.” Cindric told OnPitRoad.com following the race. “I think Doug did a great job putting some adjustability in the backup truck given the fact that we didn’t do a lap in it. I gotta thank the guys for working really hard. It sucks to have a tire go down in the first few laps of practice. I felt like out primary was gonna be really strong but we battled back with what I thought was probably not even a top-10 truck and we battled back and got a solid top-10 in P. 7. I got to thank LTI and Ford, Roush Yates, and all the BKR guys for having stuff prepared for me to have a run like that.”
The seventh place finish was his fourth straight Top-10 finish and his sixth this season. Cindric currently sits 10th in NASCAR Camping World Truck Series points 21 points behind Noah Gragson who is in ninth. Cindric enters two upcoming races with experience (Bristol and Canadian Tire Motorsport Park) and will possibly have to pull off a victory in the next four races to secure a spot in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series playoffs.
