Preston Hire Racing has signed Jason Bright as the team’s Co-Driver for the 2018 Pirtek Enduro Cup following the news that Matthew Brabham has stepped down from his position.
Charlie Schwerkolt conveyed that the team is extremely thankful to Brabham for his efforts
but ultimately the young driver has not had enough time in a Supercar to be able to contest a competitive Enduro Cup.
“Our team has made a really tough call and has asked Matt Brabham to step aside for our 2018 Enduro campaign. Our category is so competitive and with limited test days it makes it incredibly difficult to get up to speed. Matty’s an amazing guy with incredible potential. The team and I are really thankful for his time and we look forward to seeing him again soon with Preston Hire Racing. I’d really like to welcome Jason Bright in joining the team and filling in at such short notice. He has a wealth of experience and look forward to seeing what he can bring to the team.” – Charlie Schwerkolt
Bright retired at the end of last year from his illustrious full-time driving career that included 17 Pole Positions, 88 Podium Finishes and 20 Supercars Championship Race wins.
Bright will now join Holdsworth at the Sandown 500, Bathurst 1000 and Gold Coast 600 Enduro Cup events.
