SPARTANBURG, S.C. (May 12, 2015)—NEMCO Motorsports announced that FoneFuel LLC, a Spartanburg, S.C-based company that delivers a high capacity portable battery for mobile devices as a low cost solution, will be the primary partner on the No. 8 Chevrolet Silverado at the Charlotte (N.C) Motor Speedway for the NC Education Lottery 200 (Friday, May 15, 8:30 p.m. ET on FOX Sports 1).
FoneFuel LLC has partnered with NEMCO Motorsports starting with the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) event at the Charlotte Motor Speedway as a primary partner with driver Joe Nemechek. Founded in 2014, FoneFuel LLC will continue its partnership with the organization in 2015 by serving as an associate partner for the NEMCO Motorsports father and son duo of Joe Nemechek and John Hunter Nemechek splitting seat-time in the No. 8 Chevrolet Silverado. “The partnership is the start of a long-term relationship that benefits both FoneFuel LLC and NEMCO Motorsports”, Derrick Smith, co-founder of FoneFuel said. “In the future, we hope the partnership translates to the NASCAR fan-base and an expansion for FoneFuel to provide job opportunities to Spartanburg.” On Friday, the No. 8 FoneFuel Chevrolet Silverado will compete with the FoneFuel logo on the hood. Joe Nemechek won the NASCAR Xfinity Series championship in 1992. He is ranked third, and the highest active driver, on the all-time combined starts with 1113, including four NASCAR Sprint Cup and 16 Xfinity Series victories. With his wins, he also boasts 1990 NASCAR Xfinity Series Rookie of the Year, and 1992 and 1993 Xfinity Series Most Popular Driver honors. John Hunter Nemechek, 17, is a Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series as well as a member of the 2015-2016 NASCAR Next class. Nemechek has logged 13 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts, including one top-five finish and six top-10 finishes. “The way this has come together is very exciting for us,” Joe Nemechek, driver and co-owner of NEMCO Motorsports, said. “Our NASCAR fan-base sits for long hours having battery power drained from their mobile devices without an easily accessible way to charge their phones. Now, fans can use products like the FoneFuel Green, a solar powered portable charger, to recharge their mobile devices while cheering on their favorite drivers from the grandstands. This also aligns with NASCAR’s Race to Green initiative. We’re happy to have them on board and look forward to going to work for their FoneFuel brand.” The partnership will help FoneFuel focus on the company’s primary goal – investing in education. Ten percent of the FoneFuel product proceeds, which includes multiple battery sizes and charging capabilities, will fund education and philanthropic efforts both locally and worldwide.
