NASCAR penalizes No. 00, No. 19 and No. 30 NCWTS teams following Bristol

NASCAR announced on Tuesday afternoon that three NASCAR Camping World Truck Series teams have penalized points and fined after failing last week’s post-race inspection for the UNOH 200 at Bristol Motor Speedway. The No. 00 team of Cole Custer for Turner-Scott Motorsports, the No. 19 team of Brad Keselowski for Brad Keselowski Racing and the No. 30 team of Ron Hornaday Jr. were each found in violation of section 20B-12.8.1 (truck failed to meet post-race height requirements) with the rear spoiler being too high.

As a result of being a P2 level penalty,crew chiefs Joel Shear (No. 00); Doug Randolph (No. 19); and Doug George (No. 30) have each been fined $5,000. In addition, each team has also been penalized with the loss of 10 championship driver for Coster and Hornaday, and 10 championship owner points for each of the teams. Hornaday is the only driver of the three that is running the full schedule, and the penalty slips him down from third to fourth in points, now 27 points behind points leader Johnny Sauter.

Keselowski won last Wednesday’s truck series race for his first career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series victory, while Hornaday and Custer finished third and sixth, respectively.
