On the eve before the Nationwide Series race at Texas Motor Speedway, TMI (Team McClure, Inc) announced that Jeff Green will pilot the No. 14 Toyota in Saturday’s race. Eric McClure and team decided that it was best to announce the change due to medical reasons.
“As many of you may know, today I made the difficult decision to step out of the care for this weeks race. After my situation in A#gg,” McClure tweeted. “I would always operate and make decisions in best interests of family, parters & team. Today I was not 100 percent. Although I am confident I could push through and race the car as I have done in the past, I felt that the best thing for all parties is to let Jeff drive the car. I have full support of family, team & our sponsors on this decision and I will be there supporting my team to the best of my ability. I look forward 2 being back in the car next week and announcing our future plans soon. Thanks for all of the support. I appreciate all y’all.”
