By: Ashley McCubbin – Unfortunately, Brian Love’s night didn’t go all as planned as he would fail to qualify for the 25-lap feature due to a mechanical issue in the b-main.
Love kicked off the night by finishing seventh in his heat race to be sent to the second b-main. Love would have the No. 04 No. 04 Fox’s Bakery and Deli, Eckhart Auto Sales, Tire Depot Barrie, The Stone Grille Restaurant and Bar, Chico Bins + Disposal and Garry Mercer Trucking Incorporated Honda Civic in position to qualify, when it would shut off at lap eight, taking him out of the running. Love commented post-race that it was due to the throttle cable breaking.
As a result of failing to qualify for the main event, Love would be one of the five drivers that would get to run the first “Little Feature” of the season. Starting in fourth, Love quickly moved his way to the front, passing Chris Free to pick up the victory. While it isn’t the most glorious win, it was certainly nice to end the night on a good note following a tough start to the season.
