The date has been on the calendar for several weeks now and it has finally arrived. Tomorrow (Saturday June 21st) marks the official Grand Opening of 22 Racing’s new motorsport facility in Milverton, Ontario just outside of Stratford.
Steckly had a dream several years ago and he has finally seen the realization of that dream with the building of his 7,500 square foot race shop over the past winter. His dream continued to evolve over the years and the final product has exceeded even his expectations. It houses bays for eight cars, set up area, welding & fab shop, stock room, lunch room and offices. In 2014, 22 Racing is fielding full time teams for Scott Steckly and Alex Tagliani with part time programs for Ray Courtemanche Jr., Luc Lesage and Stefan Rzadzinski.
Tomorrow’s Grand Opening will offer tours by 22 Racing crew members, door prizes and draws for racing prize packages, a barbecue lunch and more. The doors open at 1 p.m.
“It has been a very busy off season for the 22 Racing Team,” said Steckly from the shop. “We knew it would be when we started this project and I cannot thank everyone who has been involved in partnering with us – we have had tremendous support. We look forward to sharing this occasion with our sponsors, friends and guests tomorrow afternoon.”
