With Sunset Speedway not running their Mini-stock division, Samantha, and Jake had the weekend off as Billy headed to Sauble and Scott to Flamboro Speedway.
Sauble Speedway: On arrival, track officials outfitted the #86 with a data recorder that would tell them valuable information to supposedly determine the horsepower of the car. Once wired in place, Billy entered the track for the first of four practice sessions that were given to the three classes in attendance. Billy was not happy with the handling of the car in the first practice session and his lap times were at least 5/10ths off what the faster cars were running as determined by the crew and their stop watches. Throughout the practice sessions, the car became faster through the ends and it was there that Billy required the best handling that he could get as most cars in attendance had too much power to pass down the straightaways. The car reacted to most of the adjustments, however Billy did not feel like it was rotating well through the corners. Lining up 3 in his first of two heat races, Billy was not unable to make up any ground on the #36 and #51, so he would finish where he started.
The second heat race also saw Billy start 3, however this time, he was able to get by the #6 on the first lap and into 2 where he finished well behind the #33. Not really knowing how to explain how the car was handling, the driver and crew came up with what they hoped would be the best adjustments for the feature. Considerable changes were made to the chassis in a hail mary attempt to get the car working to suit the driver and Billy lined up to start 8 in the 30 lap feature. It did not take long for the crew to see that they had hit the perfect balance on the car as they were quickly up to 4 on the 2 lap, 3 on the 3 and 2 on the 5 behind the #36. Five laps later, Billy passed the #36 and took over the lead that he was able to stretch out throughout the remaining 20 laps of green flag racing to take the checkered flag for the win.
Flamboro Speedway: Scott thought the car was very good throughout practice, and only minor air pressure adjustments were necessary heading into the heat races. Heat #1: Scott started 8th in the 9 car field and once the green flag dropped, he slowly worked his way up to 5th where he would finish. Heat #2: Starting 1, Scott led the first 8 laps where it was very hard to see through turns 1&2 due to the bright setting sun. The #13 car snuck into the inside lane as Scott went high on the track, trying to find his lane in the sun and took over the lead, leaving Scott to finish 2nd. Feature: Starting 8th in the 18 car field, Scott quickly moved into 3rd by lap 6 and then started to track down the #36 & #26. By the 10 lap, the #26 got inside the #36 and as Scott tried to follow him through, the #36 came across the nose of his car and once the cars collided, Scotts car climbed up the left front of the #36, causing damage to both cars. Under the ensuing caution, Scott went into the pits where his crew pulled out the fenders and sent him back out where he restarted 15th. After the restart for the final run to the finish, Scott would pass multiple cars to finish 4th.
