Mirabel, Que. July 6, 2014. Jason White’s day barely started before it was over yesterday at Circuit ICAR in the Jiffy Lube 100 presented by La Petite Bretonne.
The team came in 18th in the first practice, and opted for changes hoping for a better qualifying. A more productive result in the second practice proved to be no easy task when the team ran into some trouble after a shifter knob fell off in the second go around. The crew worked to repair the knob and adjust the chassis – but despite their efforts No. 28’s Bowers & Wilkins Dodge qualified for a 25th starting position in the main event.
The team regrouped and prepared for the Jiffy Lube 100 at their place in the field. However, White hadn’t made a full lap around the circuit when he collided with No. 95, destroying the front end of his own vehicle and ending the day for his team.
The early exit landed No. 28 in a 29th place finish.
“Well, I made a big mistake and should’ve been more patient,” White explained. “I feel really bad for everybody involved, I’m fully responsible. I feel so bad for everyone on this DJK Racing team, they work so hard to get the car ready and we don’t even get a chance for lift off”
Jason White and the #28 Bowers & Wilkins Dodge team will look to bounce back in their next outing.
