SAUBLE BEACH – On Saturday night at Sauble Speedway, Brian and Steve Love would take battle against their fellow Sunset Speedway Mini Stock drivers, but also Sauble’s best Mini Stock drivers on the almost flat track located about five minutes from Sauble Beach. Unfortunately, it didn’t go as planned as neither would qualify for the main feature event.
After making multiple laps during practice to get their Honda Civics set-up, the brothers would line up for their heat. Steve Love would come up on track, set to start on the pole, however wouldn’t make the green flag as the car stalled in turn one. Steve would be pushed off the track and done for the evening.
Meanwhile, Brian started 10th and battled hard to try and make up ground, though finished eighth and would have to run the b-main. Starting seventh in the b-main, Brian battled hard throughout the 15-lap event to try and get into a transfer spot – got into a transfer spot at about halfway – though would fail ninth. Officials were only taking the top six from b-main for the main event, so Brian would be forced to watch the feature from the sidelines.
