“I’m really looking forward to returning to my road racing roots this weekend at such a beautiful and prestigious venue as Virginia International Raceway (VIR). I was able to test at the facility last week and it was actually a lot of fun taking the late model around the course, I think a fast, technical course such as VIR suits these cars extremely well. It definitely took me a little to adjust from karts and formula cars to a stock car around a road course, but my years of experience helped me to lessen that steep learning curve, and at the end of the day it was like second nature for me. It will definitely be an interesting transition from testing at VIR on Friday and competing there Saturday afternoon and then without any practice jump right back in at such a tough place like Hickory Motor Speedway. I’m really excited and I know it’s going to be a lot of fun to have both events in one day. That’s really all you could ever ask for in one day is to have two opportunities to win at two very different and historical tracks.”
