BROOKLYN, Mich. (Aug. 13, 2014) – Michigan International Speedway is the fastest track in NASCAR based on the speeds on the racing surface. But during the Pure Michigan 400 Weekend the action off the track might be just as fast-paced.
The track staff has worked to develop numerous experiences to create lasting memories for fans. We have compiled a list of those activities to help you in your coverage this weekend.
Thursday, August 14
2 p.m. Welcome Center Open House The Welcome center is an area for fans to find out what’s going on around the facility or find out more about NASCAR
5 p.m. Camper Lineup MIS President Roger Curtis waves the green flag to open the infield and allow the campers to enter
Friday, August 15
11:30 a.m. Press Conference MIS and Consumers Energy will make a special announcement
12 p.m. NCWTS Autograph Session The NCWTS drivers will be available for autographs at the Turn One Tram Plaza Tent
5 p.m. NCWTS Open Garage 300 fan appreciation winners will have the opportunity to tour the NCWTS garage
6:15 p.m. Driver Q&A AJ Allmendinger, Denny Hamlin and Martin Truex Jr. will conduct a Fan Q&A on the MIS Special Events Stage in the New Holland Fan Plaza
7 p.m. Budweiser Party Porch Fans will have the opportunity to sink Roger Curtis and David Ragan in the dunk tank
8 p.m. Tim Dugger Concert He will entertain the crowd in the Budweiser Party Porch
Saturday, August 16
8 a.m. NCWTS garage tour Youth will have a guided tour of the NCWTS garage by Byron, Michigan native and NCWTS driver Erik Jones. They will meet at the Welcome Center in the Fan Plaza at 8 a.m. and enter the garage at 8:30 a.m.
½ hour post Budweiser Acceleration Con. Keith Anderson and Tim Dugger perform in Lot 10
Post Race Victory Lance Wedding Barb Hallock and Chad Rowley will be married by MIS President Roger Curtis in Gatorade Victory Lane
8 p.m. Tim Dugger Concert He will entertain the crowd in the Budweiser Party Porch
11 p.m. Fireworks At the conclusion of the performance by A Band Called River, fans can to turn theirs to the sky to watch the fireworks show
Sunday, August 17
8:30 a.m. NSCS garage tour Youth will have a guided tour of the NSCS garage. They will meet at the Welcome Center in the Fan Plaza at 8:30 a.m. and enter the garage at 9 a.m.
10 a.m. Press Conference Grand Marshal available in the media center
10 a.m. Kevin Harvick Q&A in the Budweiser Acceleration Club
10 a.m. Hot Dog Eating Contest Nathan’s Famous 2015 qualifying tour for the annual Fourth of July International Hot Dog-Eating Contest will take place at the MIS Special Events Stage
10:15 a.m. Jimmie Johnson Kids ticket appearance in chalet
10:30 a.m. Dale Earnhardt Jr. Q&A in the Budweiser Acceleration Club
10:30 a.m. Red Carpet The drivers arrive for the pre-race meeting via the red carpet
