(Mooresville, NC –August 15, 2014) Officials at Hylton Motorsports have announced Kenny Mathews will make his ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards debut in the upcoming Herr’s Live Life with Flavor 200 at Madison Int’l Speedway.
Mathews, 24, will be driving for a cause in the No. 48 Ford Fusion. Teaming up with Mathews is the Epilepsy Foundation, who has a special connection with the Ypsilanti, MI driver. Mathews was diagnosed with Epilepsy at a young age, but overcame the disease and was seizure free by age 15.
Driving James Hylton’s Ford Fusion, Mathews, will have a tremendous amount of advice from the veteran ARCA and NASCAR Cup driver. Hylton is a two-time winner in the NASCAR Cup Series, finishing second in points three times. Since then, he has competed in the ARCA Racing Series for several years and is now retired as a driver, but continues his participation within the series as a successful car owner.

Kenny Mathews
Starting his racing career at the age of Fifteen, Mathews has had a diverse upbringing as a driver. Beginning in Karts, he competed in a full season at East Lansing Kart Track in 2006, finishing 2nd in class points before moving on to open wheel road racing. In his first two starts in open wheel cars at Road America, Mathews finished 11th and 7th.
After participating in Racing Schools for Full-bodied stock cars, the decision was made to switch disciplines and enter the world of stock cars. In 2010, Mathews competed in his first full season at Flat Rock Speedway finishing 15th in points. Since then, he has competed part-time in outlaw late model competition while finishing his education and looks to commit to the ARCA Racing Series full time in 2015.
