Scott Heckert moved one step closer to scoring his second consecutive NASCAR K&N Pro Series East victory by winning the 21 Means 21 Pole Award during qualifying at Virginia International Raceway.
The Ridgefield, Connecticut, driver qualified in the final group of the session and finished with a fast time of 88.243 seconds (91.792 mph) to pick up his third pole award of his career and first since he took the top spot in qualifying at Columbus Motor Speedway in July.
Ben Rhodes followed in second with a fast lap of 88.692 seconds (91.327 mph) . Cameron Hayley was third (88.705/91.314) with Austin Hill (88.827/91.188) and Gray Gaulding (89.074/90.936) completing the top five.
Gaulding in the only driver to qualify in the top five that finished in the top five in this event last season.
Brodie Kostecki followed Gaulding in sixth place with Nick Drake seventh. Brandon Jones, Sergion Pena and Cole Custer rounded out the top 10.
The Biscuitville 125 is slated to begin at 4:35 p.m.
