INNISFIL, Ontario – Eric Yorke would battle hard throughout the entire 35 lap feature on Saturday night at Sunset Speedway to finish fifth to cap off his season on a good note.
Yorke started off the night by finishing second in his heat to move on to the Dash for Cash. He would have a solid run en route to finishing sixth.
As a result of the redraw, Yorke would start the feature in the 11th spot, but battled hard from the drop of the green to be running sixth as the first caution at lap four.
On the restart, Yorke would move up to fifth, getting alongside Gerrit Tiemermsa for fourth. The pair would battle back and forth till lap 12 when Yorke was able to clear him for the spot. he would then fall back to fifth three laps later when eventual series champion Brandon McFerran made the pass on him.
For the rest of the feature, Yorke continued to battle hard to maintain his track position despite splitting the lap down cars left, right and center. As a result of his hard fought effort, he would earn the fifth place finishing spot.
Special thanks to Can-Alignment Motorsports, Milton Napa Auto Parts, J&D Tire, Solex Steel, McKeown Collision, Partimer Signs and Skytec Rentals for their support.
