Sandusky, Ohio (Sept. 16, 2014) – Known as the “Granite State,” Johnny Sauter has a rock solid record at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon – site of race 16 on the 2014 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) schedule. With a combined 15 starts across NASCAR’s top-three touring divisions, the Nextant Aerospace Toyota Tundra driver has three starts at the 1.058-mile oval in the NCWTS, including two top-five and three top-10 finishes. In fact, Sauter has the best average finish (5.7) of all active NCWTS drivers entered in Saturday’s UNOH 175.
After a 14th-place finish at Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet last weekend, which left the ThorSport Racing driver second in points entering this weekend’s event, the “Magic Mile” could be just what the Necedah, Wisc. native needs to get back atop of the standings and on his way to claiming his first NCWTS title in his sixth full-time season.
Sounding Off – Johnny Sauter: “New Hampshire is an awesome place to race – it’s short track racing at its best, and I’m a short track racing kind of guy. We use a lot of brakes and wear out the tires, and anyone that knows me, knows I love the tires falling off and sliding and banging. The key to success there is a good handling truck first and foremost. The turns are tight and you have to drive it in straight and point it through to the center, and you need to lay the power down to get down the long straightaways. It’s always a challenge to find the right balance. If you have a truck that handles through the corners and get that forward bite on exit you will have a chance to win. I’ve always run well there in the trucks, even Nationwide and Cup, so I’m stoked to get back there this weekend.”
