Scott Speed, No. 77 7UP Volkswagen Polo
- After suffering engine issues during the semifinal and last chance qualifier rounds, Speed finished Red Bull Global Rallycross Round 8 in the sixth position
- The California native now sits third in the driver’s championship standings
“Everyone on the Volkswagen Andretti Rallycross team has done an amazing job this year so far. We have taken cars that have struggled and we have made them consistent winners and the fastest cars out here in the Global Rallycross field. Unfortunately, there are have been instances that are outside of the team’s control and we just have to roll with the punches. Once Tanner (Foust) and I both have our Volkswagen Beetles, we will be unstoppable. Looking forward to Seattle, we’ll make the changes we need to the 7UP Volkswagen and come out strong to recover some points.”
Tanner Foust, No. 34 Rockstar Energy Drink Volkswagen Beetle
- A precautionary engine change sidelined the Rockstar Energy Drink Volkswagen Beetle from the final round in Los Angeles
- Foust will continue to compete in the No. 34 Volkswagen Beetle during the Seattle round
“This weekend was definitely a learning process for the Volkswagen Andretti crew. We gained a lot of on-track testing time in the new Rockstar Energy Drink Volkswagen Beetle and posted some of the fastest times. Unfortunately, a precautionary engine changed kept us out of the finals, but I’m looking forward to racing at DirtFish Rally School next weekend in Seattle. Thanks to all the fans that came out for the Los Angeles rounds, it was a great turnout!”
