September 20th
This was the 3rd annual100 lap Garry Reynolds Memorial. We had been in the first two and made sure this prestigious event was on our schedule for 2014.
After our disappointing showing at Sunset on the 18th we were determined to be on time and ready to put on a good show for our fans and sponsors.
We arrived early in the morning, and were the second of 100 cars to enter the pits, keeping good our promise to be early and ready to go.
It was beautiful and sunny in the morning, blue skies, and white clouds. But they turned to grey and overcast by mid afternoon.
Our car was very fast in warm ups and when we put on our new tires we were even quicker, finishing 5th in our heat race, in a tight pack from 2nd to 7th. The car was awesome but the day would not end well as rain kept falling off and on forcing the track promoters to cancel the show.
Buttons not too happy :(
Buttons was with me this day. I just couldn’t leave her home. She watches every move I make and when I’m loading the race car she is looking out the window with a big sad face thinking I’m not going to take her with me. I think I get just as sad if I can’t take her. She wasn’t happy with the hard rain, and especially the thunder. I had to comfort her through it all. I had to be comforted as well because I was disappointed we had such a great car and the rains ended it.
Next Event
Velocity 250
Our next race is this weekend, a 2 day event at Sunset Speedway. I will be racing the Modified in the OSCAAR Modified tour series. We are currently 3rd in points in this series and hope to get a win at Sunset. We have 4 wins in the Modified so far this season. We have a good lead on 4th place, and hope to close in on 2nd.
