Sandusky, Ohio (Sept. 23, 2014) – Elvis Presley said it best in his 1963 hit song, “Viva Las Vegas” – “I’m gonna give it ev’rything I’ve got, Lady luck please let the dice stay hot.” Jeb Burton, driver of the No. 13 Estes Toyota Tundra is on a hot streak coming into the “Bright light city,” the 17th race on the 2014 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) schedule. In the last six races (Pocono – Loudon), Burton has gained a position in the driver point standings and 22 points on seventh-place. Entering Saturday night’s Rhino Linings 350 at Las Vegas (Nev.) Motor Speedway (LVMS), Burton is currently ninth in points, a mere 18 markers out of seventh.
“I’m gonna keep on the run, I’m gonna have some fun.” After a season-best finish at Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, the last 1.5-mile track the NCWTS visited, Burton looks forward to taking on the 1.5-mile LVMS. If the sophomore driver can keep his “hot streak” going, a seventh-place position in the NCWTS driver point standings is not out of the cards for the Halifax, Va. native and his ThorSport Racing team.
Sounding Off – Jeb Burton: “I had a tough time at Las Vegas last year. I wrecked my primary in practice and struggled with handling issues on my back-up truck during the race. However, I was able to get a fourth-place starting position and managed a top-12 run. We just need to have a smooth run this weekend. We’ve made some gains in the last few weeks, and had a strong run in Chicago, another 1.5-mile track. If we can keep that up in the final six races, we have a shot at salvaging a decent finish in the points after a tough start to the year.”
