SST: SPEED Energy Formula Off-Road announces 2015 schedule

On the heels of a successful second year of competition and edge of your seat entertainment, SPEED Energy Formula Off-Road has announced their 2015 schedule. The new schedule features a mix of different tracks that will challenge the drivers at each turn, while putting them in front a prominent fan base at each event, across the United States and internationally.

“Developing such a strong schedule for next year allows us to continue to provide a platform for Stadium Super Trucks presented by TRAXXAS in major markets,” series owner Robby Gordon said. “Next season our trucks will race in front of enthusiastic crowds across the country, as well as in international markets. That will allow the series and our competitors to gain world-wide exposure.

“We’ve been invited to race at some of the most popular venues on the IndyCar circuit and we’re super pumped to be going back to stadiums where we will build the most amazing track configurations that will blow fans away.”

One of the biggest highlights of the new schedule is a season opener as the year starts off with a trip overseas to Australia to Adelaide, where the trucks will race the same weekend as the V8 Supercars Clipsal 500. The schedule doesn’t slow down from that point, though, as four events will be ran alongside the Verizon IndyCar Series, with the season capping off in Las Vegas on November 4th and 5th.

“This schedule allows us to continue to bring off-road racing to the masses,” Gordon said. “We have built SST races to be great family events and these venues also allow our teams, drivers and sponsors to connect directly with some of the most enthusiastic sports fans in the world.”

With drivers competing against each other in identical trucks and hitting ramps that launch them 20 feet in the air, the Stadium Super Trucks are sight to see live. The racing on track is always close, with drivers using their skill to find their way around each other and the track. Each driver also knows that they won it on their own merit due to the trucks being all prepared equally by the series, versus possible differences due to budget.
