Richard Childress Racing announced on Thursday, December 18th that they have signed a contract extension with Menards, enabling the home improvement store to continue as the primary sponsor for select races on RCR’s No. 33 Chevrolet driven by Paul Menard and Brandon Jones in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.
“Sponsoring the No. 33 RCR team in the NASCAR XFINITY Series with drivers Paul Menard and Brandon Jones behind the wheel in 2015 is something we look forward to,” Jeff Abbott, Menards Promotions Manager, said. “This partnership is special to us and we are ready for another successful XFINITY Series campaign.”
Menard will drive the No. 33 Menards Chevrolet for select events in 2015, while running a full-time Sprint Cup Series schedule for RCR 17-year-old Jones will run a select number of events after joining RCR during the off-season. Jones ran the full NASCAR K&N Pro Series schedule and select NASCAR Camping World Truck Series events last year for Turner-Scott Motorsports.
“Menards has become a key supporter of our XFINITY Series program through the past few years and I look forward to an even better future with them,” Richard Childress, CEO and Chairman of Richard Childress Racing, said. “John Menard has vast experience in motorsports and business and I have leaned on him for advice during our partnership. I can’t thank him enough for being there.
“John, Paul Menard, all of the Menards team members and their vendor-partners have been very supportive of the RCR program. Menards strong customer service values, combined with their family culture, fit well with our culture here at RCR. I look forward to Brandon joining Paul as drivers for the Menards’ program in 2015.”
Menards has been part of RCR’s Xfinity program since 2012, but has been involved in NASCAR sponsorship dating back to the 1970s.
