BROOKLYN, Mich. (April 1, 2015) — April kicks off Michigan Wine Month. So it’s only fitting to announce the upcoming Michigan Wine and Beer Fest presented by Experience Jackson is bigger and better.
The infield at Michigan International Speedway comes to life with the best wineries and breweries from across the state noon to 7 p.m. Saturday, May 9. The Michigan Wine and Beer Fest presented by Experience Jackson returns to the track and will feature the same great variety of wines and beers.
This event will once again showcase the tastes and toasts of Michigan wineries, Michigan breweries and Michigan eateries in a unique setting — the state’s only NASCAR Sprint Cup Series racetrack and the fastest track on the circuit.
“We were really excited to bring the Michigan Wine and Beer Fest back and this year we added Speedway Stomp, a 5K race through the facility on Friday evening,” MIS President Roger Curtis said. “Michigan Craft Beer offers a wide range of varieties of styles and tastes and we are happy to offer what all the breweries, microbreweries and brewpubs make. We had a fantastic event the past five years, and it has really grown into a can’t-miss for wineries and breweries, and for people who like sampling and enjoying the state’s wine and beer.”
The festival will be held in the speedway’s infield. Entertainment will be featured throughout the day from the MIS stage. Other activities are also planned including wine, food and beer product vendors, tastings and displays.
More than 30 award-winning wineries from across the state of Michigan will be on hand showcasing about 100 varieties of wine including, Riesling, Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet and others.
The craft beer craze is sweeping Michigan, making the state the fifth in the nation in the number of breweries, microbreweries and brewpubs. The Michigan Wine and Beer Fest is a great place to try all the seasonal beers that this state offers.
And you can even purchase your favorite Michigan craft beers and wines in the retail store. MIS is one of only a handful of festivals in the state that has a retail store on site.
Advance tickets for the Michigan Wine and Beer Fest presented by Experience Jackson are $30. Each ticket includes $10 worth of tasting tokens.
This event is for guests 21 and older.
