Concord, NC (April 6, 2015) – Coming off last month’s ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards runner-up finish at Mobile Int’l Speedway, Brandon Jones will ascend on “Music City” today for testing at the Fairgrounds Nashville Speedway in preparation for Saturday’s ARCA Troop Aid 200. Today’s testing session is scheduled from 3PM – 7PM CST.
At 18-years old, Jones, already a two-time ARCA Series winner, will reunite with Venturini Motorsports for his second of ten starts behind the wheel of the No.25 Ansell-Menards Toyota. This will be Jones’s fifth career series start and first at the historic Nashville track.
“There’s a ton of history at the Fairgrounds between NASCAR, ARCA, the All American 400 and all the other big events held in Nashville. I would love to add my name to the impressive list of drivers who’ve won there,” said Jones. “It seems very similar to other short tracks I’ve run before so I’m confident in our team’s ability, we should be competitive.”
In just four career ARCA Series starts Jones has accumulated an impressive stat sheet claiming four top-5’s with an average finishing position of 1.75.
The Troop Aid 200 will be ARCA’s first race at the Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville since 1992.
Jones whose in the midst of running four consecutive ARCA series events will also be competing at Salem Speedway (April 26th) and Talladega Superspeedway (May 1st) before handing the reigns of the No.25 Ansell-Menards Toyota back to teammate, Frank Kimmel, whose equally splitting the 20-Race schedule with Jones.
Kimmel’s next race is scheduled for May 17th at Toledo Speedway.
On-track activities for the 24th Troop Aid 200 begin Saturday, April 11 with the first practice session from 12:15-1:00 p.m., followed by the second and final practice session from 1:45-2:30. Menards Pole Qualifying presented by Ansell will take place at 4:15Saturday afternoon. The Troop Aid 200 is set to start at 8 p.m.
