David Levine
No. 59 Gary Yeomans Ford
Salem Speedway
April 26, 2015
Short track education… Scott Rookie Challenge contender David Levine is ready to take on Salem Speedway, and he has shown over the last two ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards races that he is quickly learning the finer points of short track stock car racing. After his solid 12th place finish in Mobile, the former sports car regular was in the top ten in both practice sessions in Nashville. He backed that up by qualifying 9th, then racing to a 6th place finish.
ARCA points standings math… David moved up two spots in the ARCA Racing driver points standings following the Troop Aid 200 in Nashville. He is now fourth, and only 70 points outside of the top three. He maintained his lead in the Scott Rookie Challenge standings, which is now 16 points over second place.
Learning where to get a hero card… David will be participating in the ARCA Racing Driver Autograph session at the track on Sunday, April 26th from 11:30-12:30.
Why all the eduction talk? David is gearing up to graduate from Furman University with his degree in communications in May. Watch for more about that in his Talladega News & Notes.
Gary Yeomans Ford keys to victory… Taking care of his no. 59 Gary Yeomans Ford/TraqGear/AttorneyAtLaw Fusion will be very important for David to be successful in Salem. “I think the key to a good finish will be to preserve our equipment at a track that is typically unforgiving,” said David’s crew chief, Sam Schram. “Car stability over the aged surface is where races are won or lost at Salem. The level of commitment and dedication from all of the employees at Lira Motorsports is very rewarding. It paid off in our strong weekend in Nashville, and we look forward to building on our early season success in Salem.” Preserving his equipment will be the key to victory for David at Salem.
David Levine on Salem Speedway: “Nashville was just the race I was looking for. Sam kept her under me all night long. We truly had a great car all day, and I am looking for more of the same at Salem. Each race we have improved and I want to keep that streak going into Salem and onto Talladega. Right now we are sitting 4th in points. My goals is to keep moving up in the points and to extend my lead in the Scott Rookie Challenge! I can’t wait for the weekend to start.”
