No. 58 Gary Yeomans Ford
Salem Speedway
April 26, 2015
Looking forward to Salem… The .555-mile Salem oval is one of Michael’s favorite tracks on the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards schedule. It is the site of his best series finish to date, a 7th place run in 2013. Coming off of back-to-back top ten finishes in his first two ARCA Series races this year, Michael is excited to get behind the wheel in Salem and record a new best finish, one that he hopes will be celebrated in victory lane!
Finding Michael in the points… Michael jumped up five spots in ARCA Racing driver points following his 9th place run in Nashville. He is currently 15th in the standings. Even though he did not race in the season opener at Daytona due to age restrictions, he is one of only eight series drivers with multiple top ten finishes after the first three races of the year. Michael, who will graduate from Spruce Creek High School in Port Orange, FL in May, turns 18 in July.
Searching for Hero cards… If you would like an autographed Lira Motorsports Gary Yeomans Ford/TraqGear/AttorneyAtLaw car number 58 Michael Lira hero card, be sure to stop by the ARCA Racing Driver Autograph Session at the track on Sunday, April 26th from 11:30-12:30.
Discovering the Gary Yeomans Ford keys to victory… Focusing on the track will be very important for Michael at Salem Speedway. Teddy Brown, Michael’s crew chief, explains “Salem is one of the most demanding race tracks on the driver and car. The track has so many unique characteristics and features – it’s a track you either love or hate. Michael loves it, so we are looking forward to having a chance at the victory.” Racing ‘the race track’ will be the key to victory for Michael at Salem Speedway.
Michael Lira on Salem Speedway: “We got out of Nashville with a top ten finish, but I know my Lira Motorsports Ford was capable of much more, and my goal is to prove that this weekend. I absolutely love the track in Salem! I’ve raced there three times in the ARCA Series, and I’ve learned something each time that I can bring into the race on Sunday. We’ve been racing in Florida since January, but for the fans in Indiana, this is one of the first races of the year. They always bring a lot of energy and excitement, so I’m looking forward to putting on a good show for them.”
