After skipping Talladega, Michael is revved up to return to the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards at Toledo Speedway. Still a few months away from meeting ARCA’s age requirements for racing at Talladega, the 17-year old Port Orange, FL driver kept his mind off the Alabama high-banks with a trip to the west coast for some sports car racing. He competed in the IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge Monterey Grand Prix, starting 15th and finishing a respectable 14th in his first time at the legendary Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.
Michael had a strong run last year at Toledo, qualifying 12th and racing to a 9th place finish. He enters this year’s race with two top ten finishes in three starts thus far in 2015. He’s hoping to capture his first career ARCA Racing top five at the northern Ohio half-mile, driving for his family-owned start-up Lira Motorsports team that has proven to be competitive at short tracks so far this year.

Crew chief Teddy Brown and my Lira Motorsports team have built cars capable of running up front with the more established teams, and we’ve been getting stronger and stronger every race. To have a great run at Toledo, ARCA’s home track, would be awesome!”
On track details… The ARCA Racing Series drivers are scheduled for practice on Saturday, May 16th from 11:45-12:30pm, followed by final practice from 1:00-1:45pm. Menards Pole Qualifying presented by Ansell begins at 3:30pm. On Sunday, May 17th there is an ARCA Racing Series driver autograph session from noon-1:00pm. The green flag is scheduled for 2:00pm. The race distance is 200 laps (100 miles). All times are Eastern Daylight.
