TSN, RDS Combine For Bilingual Coverage; Series Debut For FansChoice.tv
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (May 14, 2015) – The NASCAR Canadian Tire Series presented by Mobil 1, Canada’s premier racing series, will once again feature bilingual television coverage for its entire schedule of events on TSN and RDS.
TSN, Canada’s Sports Leader, has been the television home of the series since its inaugural 2007 season, while French-language RDS will air races for a fifth straight year. The 2015 season will also see the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series debut of FansChoice.tv with coverage of practice and qualifying sessions.
Eight of the 11 scheduled NASCAR Canadian Tire Series events in 2015 will have one-hour shows broadcast nationally on a tape-delayed basis on TSN and RDS2, while the fall race at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park and the season finale from Kawartha Speedway will be 90-minute programs. RDS2 will carry the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivieres live and TSN will have 90-minute tape-delay coverage of the event.
“TSN and RDS have been fantastic partners in bringing all of the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series presented by Mobil 1 action to fans across Canada for many years now, and we’re very happy to see the tradition continue in 2015,” said George Silbermann, NASCAR vice president of regional and touring series. “We are also thrilled to introduce FansChoice.tv coverage of the events this year for fans to keep even closer tabs on the competition.”
The 2015 broadcast schedule will commence with the season-opening Clarington 200 from Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, scheduled to premiere on TSN on May 23 and June 14 on RDS2, and will conclude with the season in review show on Nov. 28 on TSN.
The programs are produced by Fuel MediaLab and NASCAR Media Group, and include race coverage, driver interviews and features. All coverage will be broadcast in HD.
For NASCAR Canadian Tire Series telecasts on TSN, Dave Bradley will have play-by-play duties while Billy Rowse Jr. and Adam Ross will share color analysis. Todd Lewis and Spencer Lewis will return to the telecasts as pit reporters, and will be joined this year by Clinton Geoffrey and Tanya Beaudin. The RDS telecasts will once again feature Didier Schraenen and Eric Descarries on the call.
Along with their NASCAR Canadian Tire Series coverage, TSN and RDS are the official broadcasters of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and NASCAR XFINITY Series in Canada.
