The Dickies OSCAAR Outlaws presented by London Recreational Racing:
The highly anticipated start to the season is just days away from the green flag. The 2015 Outlaw season will see a new champion crowned as defending champion Andrew Gresel will be focusing his season on other racing endevers. Fans will see the familiar #81 at certain Outlaw shows this summer. The list of drivers waiting to add their names to the trophy is a long one. Last years’ runner up #17 Kevin Cornelius would have to be a preseason favorite to add his name to the trophy. But fans will not want to forget to keep an eye on the #22 of Glenn Watson, with three championships under his belt he knows what it takes to get the job done. Perhaps Kelly Balson in his b10 machine with a year under his belt is ready for a championship. You also cannot over look veterans Tyler Hawn #42, Mike Beyore in the #54 and #39 Shane Gowan as they have spent the winter getting their cars ready to race. #82 of Corey Jones is still searching for his first feature win, and has to be considered a championship contender. Then you have to stop and look at returning teams #7 Derrick Tiemersma the 2007 champion, the 40p of Charlie Gallant, the #13 of Gary Passer both have tasted the thrills for victory lane. The #89c of Shawn Chenoweth has had success in every class he has raced, and would love nothing better than to pick up a feature win and cross it off his bucket list. The team of #27 Roy Passer and the #84 of JR Fitzpatrick have prepared to supreme rides and are ready to tackle the best in the series. Could it possibly be a rookie? #29 of Sean Grosman is set to make his series debut this weekend. Fellow rookies #3 Rob Gibson and #71c Ethan Cournyea are ready to turn some heads this weekend at Sunset Speedway.
Fans will not want to miss one lap of exciting Outlaw racing in 2015
The HOOSIER OSCAAR Modified Series:
During the off season, the one thing on every modified drivers mind, what do we have to do to dethrone the #8 of Gary McLean as champion. Since the inception of the series the familiar #8 of Gary McLean has picked up three consecutive championships and the team has been hard at work in the shop to ensure they are in contention for number four. The veterans of the series are hoping to have something to say about it. #36 Gary Elliott has a strong 2014 season and is ready to challenge for the wins and championship. The #88 of Ryan Dick is entering his third year of competition and after recording solid finishes throughout the past season he too is ready for feature wins. Tommy Robb #88r had a strong season and over the winter has worked on his program to elevate him to the next level. #77 Chad Strawn has celebrated in victory lane and is prepared for a championship hunt as they are ready to tackle the entire 2015 season. Brian McLean #47 would love nothing better than to be the next McLean to add his name to the championship trophy. Returning team of #15 Brad Pearsall, #39 Shane Stickle, #19 Dean Scott, #79 of John Harper will be looking to teach these rookies a few things about modified racing. There are a few teams racing on a part time basis in 2015 and will be a threat each time they enter #2 of Matt Barton, #14 Davey Terry, #26 Terry Baker and last years’ runner up Max Beyore in the #91n.
Fans are going to be treated to the best in open wheeled action every time the Hoosier Modifieds hit the track in 2015.
The Midas of Orangeville Midget Series:
The midget series has been racing the short tracks of Ontario for over 10 years, but this coming weekend will start a new legacy with the series as part of the OSCAAR tour. The excitement for the first green flag of 2015 has been building since the announcement at the end of 2014. The past years have seen tremendous growth in the series and 2015 is no different. At this time there are 46 teams registered to do battle each and every week at the track. To ensure that all drivers have an opportunity to race for their fans, there will be two main events each night. Fans will see some very exciting heat race action as the drivers battle to ensure they are part of the A main each week. With the two feature format, one little slip could have big implications in the points race and a drivers championship hopes. With all top ten drivers from the 2014 Championship returning in 2015, everyone knows that to win they are going to have to bet the #83 of Jamie Bound. Weighing in on this championship will be a great field of 9 rookie teams ready to do battle including the #5 of Jody Bound. This championship could come down to a battle of family members. The OSCAAR Midgets have the most diverse driver roster, from young adults age 12 to adults age 68. From drivers with years of experience to rookies who will be turning their first laps in a race car this weekend. The super fast speeds, the ability to race 3 wide and the nonstop action until the checker flag will keep fans on the edge of their seats.
OSCAAR would like to thank their dedicated fans, teams and sponsors for all their support the past 25 years and look forward to bringing race fans the best in racing this season!
It is time to go racing !!!!
