In his Hoosier OSCAAR modified debut at Sunset Speedway, A.J. Emms had a strong night, finishing 10th despite a mid-race spin.
Emms started off the night by posting a pair of strong performances in his heats to set him up to start ninth in the 30-lap feature.
He would begin to make his way to the front, moving into the eighth spot by lap five. He was looking to continue his climb to the front, however contact with fellow rookie David Balch resulted in the No. 99 Modified for ADAMS Motorsports going around.
Restarting at the rear of the field, Emms looked to make up ground quickly, working his way through the field to move into the 10th spot before the second caution of the event with four laps to go for a car going around in turn four.
He would get a good solid restart, maintaining his position, to finish the event in the 10th spot.
