Concord, NC (May 20, 2015) – Coming off an impressive eighth place finish at Iowa Speedway in his NASCAR XFINITY Series debut with Richard Childress Racing, Brandon Jones returns Sunday to the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards for the series’ lone road course event – the ARCA 150 presented by Unique Pretzels at New Jersey Motorsports Park.
Brandon Jones, with limited road course experience, will make his fifth start of the season with Venturini Motorsports behind the wheel of his No.25 Ansell-Menards Toyota.
“The main thing that I’ve noticed about road course racing is that if you’re able to stay on the track, you’ll likely have a pretty good finish,” said Jones. “I’ve raced at a couple road courses last year in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East & I’ve done a few road course tests, too, so I have quite a few laps on courses similar to the Thunderbolt Raceway course at New Jersey Motorsports Park.”
Jones, who will have to switch gears and adapt to the “left and right” turns awaiting him this weekend, is no stranger to a diversified racing schedule.
Jones has adapted well during the midst of his busy 2015 racing season, which includes four different national touring series with four different teams. (ARCA Racing Series – Venturini Motorsports, NASCAR XFINITY – Richard Childress Racing, NASCAR Camping World Truck Series – GMS Racing, and NASCAR K&N Pro Series East – NTS Motorsports).
Of his 34 scheduled races this season, Jones will compete in 10 ARCA events with Venturini Motorsports in addition to 17 NASCAR Truck races, 5 NASCAR XFINITY races and 2 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East events.
Brandon Jones, who has only finished outside the top-5 once during his brief ARCA career, contributes his early success to having confidence and solid team backing.
“I don’t really know that it’s any one thing that really lends the ARCA Racing Series cars to my driving style. I think it’s more so that I’m just used to the car after making a few starts in the series last year. Coming out of the gate and getting back-to-back wins gave me a lot of confidence in these types of cars. Venturini Motorsports has been preparing great cars for our Menards-Ansell Protects team, and I think that’s been a major factor in our ability to continue getting strong finishes,” said Jones.
Jones, already a two-time winner in the ARCA Series, splits his current series schedule with Frank Kimmel, co-piloting the Ansell-Menards machine. The two drivers have earned a combined four Top-5 and five Top-10 finishes, placing the No.25 car second in the ARCA Series Owner Championship Points standings.
Venturini Motorsports’ No.55 team, which has been shared by Cody Coughlin (two starts), Dominic Ursetta (two starts), Clay Greenfield (one start) and recent race winner, Todd Gilliland (one start), currently lead in the Owner Point Standings.
Brandon Jones will join teammates Cody Coughlin (No.55 JEGS Toyota) and Brian Wong (No.15 Nuts.com-Nitty Toyota) this weekend at New Jersey Motorsports Park.
