After months of preparation, the final six schools that will make the call for Saturday’s High School Challenge at Delaware Speedway have been announced. Vehicles prepared by students representing London, Chatham, Glencoe, Forest, and Woodstock will hit the track this Saturday for the Bone Stock Enduro Opener. Clarke Road Secondary School (London) is the defending winner of the event.
Each participating school has worked to prepare a vehicle that will be entered into competition in the track’s most affordable entry-level series: Bone Stock Enduro. During the race the cars are be driven by some of Delaware Speedway’s top drivers and personalities. The Bone Stock Enduro cars are known for their ease of preparation and affordability making them the ideal choice for this unique class project.
Of the eleven schools that are part of the unique development program, a number of schools ran into roadblocks during the preparation of their vehicles. While these schools came exceptionally close to making the race, their vehicles will likely not be completed in time for the event on Saturday. These schools will be offered the opportunity to complete their cars and run them in an additional high-school challenge event now slated for September 26.
The High School Challenge will runs this weekend on Super-Value Saturday as part of the 75-Lap Bone Stock Enduro main event. The afternoon also features the season opening event for the V8 Stock Muscle Cars. Competition will begin at 2:00 pm.
