Unfortunately on Saturday night, Lisa DeLeeuw would not have the race that she was looking for, finishing the 20-lap feature in the 19th spot.
The night didn’t start off smoothly as she’d go around on the first lap of the first heat as a result of contact from Nick St. Onge. She would then finish the heat in the 10th spot. With the APC Auto Parts United Late Models of Ontario Tour on hand, Sunset Speedway officials would not run the Dash for Cash or consolation races.
Come feature time, she would start in the 19th spot as a result of her qualifying effort. She would fall back to the 22nd spot, though, by the first caution for St. Onge spinning in turn three. She would move up to the 19th spot, though, by the time the second caution flew for another spin by St. Onge.
She would drop back a spot to 20th on the restart, but was able to use the final laps of the 20-lap event to move back into the 19th spot before the checkered flag fell.
