MOORESVILLE, N.C. (May 26, 2015) – Every driver looks forward to racing at their “home track,” and that is true for Justin Boston as well. The Baltimore native has had the Dover race circled on his calendar since the season began and now carries the momentum of three consecutive top-10 finishes in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series along with him.
Boston has never raced a truck at the Monster Mile, but this will not be his first time racing on the concrete one-mile oval. Last year he competed in the fall XFINITY race for Joe Gibbs Racing, where he started 11th and finished 12thin his first-ever start in the series. In 2013 Boston ran the K&N East race resulting in a second-place finish. This time he hopes to better the K&N finish by one position.
Boston is with the right team to capture a victory at his home track. KBM drivers have collected three wins, two poles, 630 laps led, three top-five and five top-10 finishes resulting in an average finish of 9.6 across nine starts at Dover. Owner-driver Kyle Busch has collected all three of the team’s wins, including victories the last two seasons. KBM drivers have led more laps at Dover than any other track.
ROK Mobile will sponsor Boston’s Toyota Tundra again this weekend at Dover. ROK Mobile, co-founded by entrepreneursJohn Paul DeJoria (Patron Tequila and Paul Mitchell) and JonathanKendrick (serial entrepreneur), is a prepaid, contract-free mobile and music service that offers unlimited talk, text, data and streaming music for a monthly cost of $49.99. Justin Boston, Driver of the No. 54 NCWTS ROK Mobile Tundra:
Does your previous experience at Dover give you extra confidence going into such a tough track?
“Dover is definitely a special place for me. It’s the racetrack that sparked my career in stock car racing, and growing up near there I consider Dover my home track. I have been there a few times before and I think that will definitely help, especially with running an XFINITY race there in 2014. I feel very confident that we will be contending for the win in the ROK Mobile Tundra.”
How different is it racing on concrete versus asphalt?
“Concrete is a lot different than racing on asphalt. The grip level is really high and you can hustle the car more. Also, the rubber that gets put down on the track throughout a run seems to affect the balance a lot more than it would on asphalt. It’s definitely something I enjoy racing on and look forward to it every time we go there.”
Being from Baltimore how much would it mean to you to win at Dover?
“It would mean everything to me. It is definitely something that I would love to accomplish and I’ve been close before, (second in the K&N race) but I really want to win at Dover. That is where it all started for me and to end up in Victory Lane would be surreal, and would be huge for my family.”
Shannon Rursch, Crew Chief of the No. 54 NCWTS ROK Mobile Toyota Tundra:
How will Justin’s previous experience at Dover help him this weekend?
“I’m excited about going to Dover. This is Justin’s home track and he ran really well there in the XFINITY race last year, so he knows how to get around the track and has a good understanding of what he needs in the truck. Dover is a tough track and the previous races Justin has run there will really shorten the learning curve for the entire 54 team.”
Justin Boston’s No. 54 ROK Mobile Tundra:

Shannon Rursch will call the shots for Justin Boston’s rookie campaign in the Truck Series in 2015. The Iowa native may be new to KBM, but is no stranger to sitting atop the pit box. Rursch comes to KBM from Turner Scott Motorsports (TSM), where he most recently served as crew chief for the No. 31 team in the NASCAR XFINITY Series. In addition to leading the XFINITY Series team in 2014, he collected three top-10 finishes in four starts as crew chief for TSM in select Truck Series events last season.
Rursch has one start as a crew chief in the XFINITY Series at Dover, which came last fall when Dylan Kwasniewski finished 21st.
