PETERBOROUGH, Ontario — Coming off of his first victory of the 2015 campaign, Rick Walt will be looking to seal up a spot on the front row for the Autumn Colors Classic.
This past weekend, Walt and Walt Motorsports made the trek to Peterborough Speedway. They would be solid in qualifying, scoring a heat victory. He then managed to grab the lead during the feature, not looking back as he held off Ryan Kimball in a green-white-checkered to complete the feature.
For Walt, it marks his first feature victory of the 2015 campaign after posting a pair of runner-ups at Sunset Speedway thus far this season. With 18 features under his belt thus far this season (16 at Sunset, two at Peterborough), Walt has scored seven top-five and nine top-10 finishes.
With success and momentum on his side, Walt now turns his attention to the Chase for the Colors event this Saturday night at Peterborough. The 75-lap feature presents a prestigious gift for the top-two finishers, as they will start the Autumn Colors Classic from the front row in October.
Details about the Chase for the Colors event can be found on the Peterborough Speedway website at http://www.peterboroughspeedway.com.
