When Englishman Daniel Brown slides behind the wheel of the No. 63 Brown & Geeson Chevrolet Silverado of MB Motorsports for the Chevrolet Silverado 250 at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, it will be a little different than the Aston Martins, Ferrari’s and BMW’s he is used to racing across the pond.
“I am really excited for this opportunity to race in the NCWTS with MB Motorsports and have to say a big thank you to Mike Mittler for trusting me to drive the truck this week,” says Brown. “I have primarily driven GT sports cars in Europe, so the truck is certainly going to be a very different animal to tame. There are some big names taking part in this event, so I am under no illusions that it is going to be tough and will involve a very steep learning curve, but if I keep out of trouble and listen to all the advice Mike and the team can give me, then I hope we will be able to achieve a strong result.”
“While the race cars are obviously very different,” notes team owner Mike Mittler, “there are certain in principles in racing that hold true no matter what type of vehicle is being driven. Daniel has built a very impressive resume and we are very excited to have him drive the Brown & Geeson Chevy for us this week at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park.”
Adds crew chief Trip Bruce, “Daniel has successfully raced everything from go-karts to Ferrari’s to Ford Falcons, so I’m pretty confident he can transition smoothly to the #63 Silverado. I’m really looking forward to getting to the track for Sunday’s race.”
Brown has been quite successful in British GT, FIA GT3 and GT Open, as well as the Blancpain Endurance Series and Historic Racing events among many others.
The Chevrolet Silverado 250 will be broadcast live on Fox Sports 1, MRN Radio and Sirius Channel 90 Sunday August 30 at 1:30 pm ET. Practice will be broadcast on Fox Sports 1 at 11:30 am ET Saturday, with Qualifying following at 5:30 pm ET on Fox Sports 2.
