INNISFIL, Ontario — Following a mechanical issue last weekend at Sunset Speedway, Jade Franklin will be looking bounce back this weekend with a solid finish.
Franklin started off last weekend with a 10th place finish in the first heat with a mechanical issue developing in the late stages. Upon further review, it was determined that the clutch was starting to go, forcing the team to pack up their belongings early.
It marked an unfortunate turn of events as Franklin had posted his first career top-10 feature finish the week prior.
“It’s gone better than I thought it would,” he commented on how things have gone last month. “I’m still figuring out the car and learning, but it’s gone well.”
With only two nights left, certainly the teenager will be looking to have a strong this weekend. He has proven that he can win as well the features haven’t produced the finishes that he’s wanted with bad luck plaguing some of his strong runs, he has picked up a heat win and a pair of b-main wins.
“I’m learning a lot running out with the guys that they have over the years and it seems to helping a lot,” he commented. “This is just a stepping stone for me and learning this year for next year.”
