INNISFIL, Ontario — After having to restart from the rear of the field, Cameron McGlashan was able to make his way through the field, finishing third in the feature at Sunset Speedway on Saturday night.
McGlashan started off the night by finishing second in his heat, followed by a second place finish in the Fast Qualifier’s Dash.
Starting 13th in the feature due to being last week’s feature winner, he began to make hi way through the field quickly. Though on lap three, he would make contact with Randi Seguin, with her going around. As a result, McGlashan would have to restart from the rear of the field.
Restarting from the tail of the field, he make his charge quickly back towards the front, moving into seventh on lap nine. McGlashan would continue his climb back through the field, getting alongside Doug Wilman for sixth at lap 10. He would then take the spot, getting by Josh Inglis to move into fifth at lap 11. He would then make another two passes to be running third with eight laps to go.
With no cautions over the final laps and the top-two already gone from the field, McGlashan would run out of laps, crossing the finish line in the third spot.
For McGlashan, it marks his ninth top-five and 13 top-10 finish in his rookie season at Sunset Speedway en route to finishing a close second in points to Treyten Lapcevich.
