I BET YOU DIDN’T KNOW THAT
A Wild Card At The Wild Card: Jamie McMurray, making his first appearance as a challenger in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup (Chase), kicked-off the Chase Across America this week with a visit to Talladega Superspeedway. The Chase Across America is a week-long blitz leading up to this weekend’s first race of the Chase at Chicagoland Speedway. Talladega Superspeedway is considered by many as a “wild-card” race given its historically unpredictable finishes. It makes sense that McMurray, who would also be considered a “wild-card” to with the 2015 Championship, would stop by Talladega Superspeedway on Tuesday. McMurray who has two career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) wins at Talladega, participated in media Q&As, co-hosted an hour-long live radio show with local station WJOX and painted a car in Talladega’s Victory Lane with middle school students.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW FOR CHICAGOLAND SPEEDWAY
Jamie McMurray and No. 1 McDonald’s/Cessna Team
Richmond Recap: The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) hosted its final “regular season” race and the cutoff to make the 2015 Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup (Chase) at Richmond International Raceway (RIR). Jamie McMurray overcame a disappointing qualifying result, to have one of his strongest runs of the season, while securing his place in the 16-driver Chase field and the chance to race for the 2015 NSCS Championship.
McMurray at Chicagoland: In 11 previous starts at Chicagoland Speedway (Chicago), McMurray has led 108 laps, earning three top-10 and one top-five finishes. He has an average starting and finishing position of 21.2 and 21.2, respectively. McMurray started from the pole in 2010, his best start at the 1.5-mile track and best finish of fifth place came in that same race. McMurray has completed 3,046 of 3,207 (95 %) laps of competition at Chicago.
Booth Debut: This Saturday at Chicagoland Speedway, McMurray will join the NBC Sports Network announcing team of Rick Allen and Daytona 500-winning crew chief Steve Letarte as an analyst during the NASCAR XFINITY Series Race. McMurray, who has made 187 starts and has eight career victories in the NASCAR XFINITY Series, will make his first appearance in the broadcast booth as a guest analyst for an XFINITY Series race.
Kyle Larson and No. 42 Clorox Team
Richmond Recap: This weekend, NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) teams headed to Richmond International Raceway (RIR) for the final race in the regular season before the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup begins. Having tested at RIR twice this season, the Target team felt confident they would have a good car for Saturday night’s race, which Larson needed to win in order to secure a spot in the Chase. After showing good speed on Friday, Larson started the race in 11th place and ran in the top-10 for the entire 400-lap event before finishing in 12th place.
Larson at Chicagoland: This weekend will be Larson’s second start at Chicagoland in the NSCS car. In last season’s Chase opener, Larson started in 10th place and led 20 laps on the way to an exciting third place finish. Larson has four previous starts at the track in the NASCAR XFINTY Series, compiling an average starting position of 19.5 and an average finish of 12.2, with a third and second place result, respectively, in the previous two races.
Ready to Clean Up: Larson will be running the Clorox Disinfecting Wipes Chevrolet SS this weekend at Chicago. Clorox was featured twice last season with Larson, once with Clorox on the NSCS car for the first race at Phoenix International Raceway and once with Glad on the truck that Larson raced at Eldora Speedway. Larson will start his weekend in Chicago off by touring a Glad research and development facility, and meeting with Clorox team members. The Clorox Company features a wide variety of brands, from the familiar bleach to Pine-Sol, Tilex, Glad, Kingsford, Hidden Valley , Soy Vay and Burt’s Bees to name a few.
Triple-Threat: Larson will stay busy this weekend in the driver’s seat given he’s running all three NASCAR races. Larson will be racing in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) at Chicagoland, the first time he’s competed with the trucks since last season’s finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway. It is also the first time since Homestead that Larson will be racing in the all three events in one weekend. In addition to running the NCWTS event, Larson will also be racing in this weekend’s NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) event. It will be his 10th NXS start of the season, and his 10th career NCWTS start, where he has one win and two pole awards.
A Shopping Bullseye: If you have made it to the race only to find out you’ve forgotten to pack a few necessities, there’s no need to worry. For all your last minute needs, and forgotten items, Target has all of the essentials and more. The closest Target is located at 2370 E Lincoln Highway, New Lenox, Ill. 60451 and can be reached at (815) 462-6001. Call ahead and make sure they have what you need.
