On Saturday at Chicagoland Speedway, Kyle Busch led 102 of 200 laps en route to scoring his fourth victory of the 2015 season. During post-race inspection, though, the car was found to be too-low in all four corners.
According to NASCAR Executive Vice President and Chief Racing Development Officer Steve O’Donnell on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio on Monday, though, there was a broken part that could’ve led to the car being too low.
“There was a broken part on the race car, so that’s something that we’ll look at as we take the car back to the R&D Center and evaluate where we go from postrace,” he commented. “That process is still ongoing and we’ll announce something Tuesday if there’s anything to it.”
Busch’s No. 54 Joe Gibbs Racing team could see penalties from the infraction this week, depending on NASCAR’s findings.
