CONCORD, N.C. (Sept. 25, 2015) – Roush Fenway Racing will honor the courageous fight of 10-year old Elijah Aschenbrenner this weekend, running special “Driven for Elijah” decals on all seven of its NASCAR Fords in races at Kentucky Speedway and New Hampshire Speedway.
Elijah, whose mother is a former employee at Roush Fenway Racing, has been battling Epitheliod Sarcoma cancer since May 2014 – with his heroic fight garnering an emotional outpouring from communities including NASCAR and other professional sports.
Almost 40,000 people have visited Elijah’s blog on Facebook with his most recent video message receiving over 350,000 views.
This week alone Elijah has received calls of support from Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton, and Auburn University football coach Gus Malzahn — whose team has dedicated this week’s game to the brave young man who has inspired so many.
