After having to run the b-main due to problems in the first heat on Saturday, Cayden Lapcevich would come from near the back of the field to win the Velocity 250 presented by McColl Racing Enterpries. For the two-time defending St. Onge Recreation Super Stock Champion, it marks his second straight victory in the crown jewel event.
Following qualifying on Saturday for the Velocity 250, the top 18 cars would be set for the field, with a pair of b-mains left to run before the A-Main to set the final eight cars.

Paul Geniole Jr. won the first b-main ahead of Cayden Lapcevich, Miles Tyson and Keith Temple. Ken McNicol finished fifth to be the first car to not qualify, followed by Wally Everingham, Kevin Reynolds, Jaymee Adams and William Hughes.
The second b-main got messy with Ethan Cournyea spinning Cameron McGlashan on lap two, with Daryl Fice getting collected. Then on lap nine, there’d be a caution for debris due to a piece falling off of Cournyea’s car. Coltin Everingham picked up the victory ahead of Paul Maltese, McGlashan and Jason Legge. Cournyea was the first car to not qualify, followed by Fice, Matt Johnson and Nick Hamill.
Come feature time, Adam Martin would start the No. 97 Johnsonville Sausage / Candy Tree / Reser’s Fine Foods / Little Potato Company / SecureDrive / Stihl / Beyond Digital Imaging / GoTire / Micks Motorsports / Permatex Ford on pole ahead of Dan Archibald, Ryan Semple, Matt Bentley, Ken Grubb, Randy Rusnell, Mike Weeda, Jason Elliott, Brendan Adams, Rob Morrison, Dennis Cybalski, Joe Adams and Jake Zevenberger, along with more for a total field of 26 cars.
Martin grabbed the early advantage out front ahead of Semple, Bentley, Grubb, Archibald and Weeda. Rusnell ran seventh at lap four ahead of Elliott, Brendan Adams, Cybalski, Joe Adams, Zevenberger, Johnny Morrison and Rob Morrison. Rob would then get alongside Johnny for 13th at lap seven, completing the pass a lap later. Chris Howse would then get alongside Johnny for 14th but was unable to complete the pass. Instead, Geniole Jr. would move by Howse into 15th.
The b-main winner continued his climb, passing both Morrisons to run 13th at lap 13 ahead of Lapcevich as the Morrisons battled side-by-side; Rob would get the 15th spot at lap 14. Further up the field, Rusnell would get alongside Weeda for sixth, completing the pass at lap 17. Weeda now ran seventh ahead of Elliott and Brendan Adams as Joe Adams and Cybalski raced side-by-side for 10th.
At the front of the field, Martin continued to lead the field ahead of Semple, Bentley, Grubb, Archibald, Rusnell, Weeda, Elliott, Brendan Adams, Joe Adams. As of the halfway mark, Cayden Lapcevich had come from the back half of the field to run 11th ahead of Cybalski and Geniole Jr.
At lap 30, Bentley and Grubb would both make their way by Semple to move up to second and third, respectively. Grubb would then move into second at lap 31 ahead of Semple and Bentley, with the caution flying the next lap for Geniole Jr. stopping in turn four. He would head down pit road to the attention of his crew before returning to the track. With 28 laps to go, Martin led Grubb, Semple, Bentley, Archibald, Rusnell, Weeda, Elliott and Brendan Adams.
Ken Grubb would get a good restart to take the lead behind the wheel of the No. 36 Bester Forest Products, TJM, Brian Freiburger, Bluewater Sanitations, Al Reich’s Backhoeing Haulage, Reg Bell Fuels, TJZ Spray Foam Insulation, Marvin Freiburger & Sons Incorporated Ford to get the lead ahead of Martin, Bentley and Semple as Rusnell and Archibald battled for fifth. Archibald would get the fifth spot at lap 34, with Lapcevich getting alongside Rusnell for the sixth spot. It would then turn into a three-wide battle for fifth at lap 35 between Archibald, Lapcevich and Rusnell, with Lapcevich getting the spot.
Lapcevich would then get alongside Semple for fourth as the caution flew for Zevenberger slowing in turns three and four. With 14 laps to go, Grubb led Martin, Bentley, Semple, Lapcevich, Archiald, Rusnell, Weeda, Brendan Adams, Elliott, Joe Adams and Cybalski.
Grubb would get a good restart once again to keep the lead while Bentley got alongside Martin for second. The battle for second would then go three-wide on lap 37 with Martin, Bentley and Lapcevich side-by-side. Lapcevich would get the spot on lap 38 ahead of Martin, Bentley, Semple, Archibald and Rusnell as Johnny Morrison headed down pit road. Behind Rusnell, it’d be Weeda and Joe Adams completing the top-nine.
At the front of the field, Lapcevich would track Grubb down for the lead, getting alongside him with nine laps to go. With seven laps to go, Lapcevich would put the No. 76 Tim Hortons, Castrol, Cathcart Trucking, Springers Meats, EPIC Racewear and Troy Cove Marine entry out front into the lead ahead of Grubb and Martin.
The caution would then fly a lap later, though, for Donny Munce and Elliott getting together in turns one and two. As a result of going back a lap, Grubb would inherit the lead so with six laps to go, he led Lapcevich, Martin, Bentley, Semple, Rusnell, Archibald, Joe Adams, Weeda, Geniole Jr. and Brendan Adams to the green flag.
Lapcevich would get a good restart to retake the lead ahead of Grubb, Bentley and Martin as Rusnell and Semple battled for fifth. Rusnell would get the spot with three laps to go ahead of Joe Adams, with Archibald getting alongside Semple for seventh. Semple would hold Archibald off, with Geniole Jr. moving up to eighth. Geniole Jr. would then get alongside Semple for seventh on the white flag lap.
At the front, Cayden Lapcevich led the rest of the way en route to scoring the victory ahead of Ken Grubb, Matt Bentley, Adam Martin, Randy Rusnell, Joe Adams, Paul Geniole Jr., Ryan Semple, Dan Archibald, Mike Weeda, Brendan Adams, Keith Temple, Dennis Cybalski and Jason Elliott. Miles Tyson finished as the first car one lap down in 15th ahead of Jake Zevenbergen, Nick Tooley, Chris Howse, Todd Davenport, Cameron McGlashan, Jason Legge, Ethan Cournyea and Paul Maltese.
