Huntersville, N.C. (October 5, 2015) – It all comes down to this. Hunter Baize enters the Winchester 400 just four points out of second in the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS championship points standings. In addition, he is only one victory away from tying the record for most victories by a rookie contender in the ARCA/CRA Super Series during a season. Baize will climb aboard his No. 13 Federated Auto Parts / Bicycle Playing Cards / Mountaineer All-Natural Firewood Ford one last time this season, looking to visit victory lane for the third time this season in the 44th running of the Winchester 400.
The 17-year-old driver enters his first Winchester 400 confident he can compete with the best of the best. He has proven that all season. A third place run in the Redbud 300, as well as two wins, one at Illiana Motor Speedway (Ind.) and one at Flat Rock Speedway (Mich.), highlighted a successful season. Baize is hoping to add a Winchester 400 victory to the highlight reel.
I’m looking forward to heading back to Winchester this weekend,” Baize said. “The Winchester 400 is one of the biggest late model races in the country, and I’m extremely thankful for the opportunity to race it this year.”
I’m confident that the guys at VRD will give us a solid car;” he continued. “I’m ready for one of the biggest races of my season.”
The 44th running of the Winchester 400 will feature some of the biggest names the sport has to offer. 2014 NASCAR Xfinity Series Champion Chase Elliot and current NASCAR Camping World Truck Series points leader, Erik Jones highlight a star-studded field. The very fast (0.500) 1/2-mile Winchester Speedway located in Winchester, Indiana will play host to the marquee Super Late Model event. The race is scheduled to run on Sunday, October 11, 2015.
Baize’s 2016 plans are not ready to be announced. A very successful season in 2015 will help lead to bigger and better things for the Kentucky driver. Stay tuned for news regarding his future.
During Winchester 400 Weekend, Baize’s Van Doorn Racing Development Pro and Super Late Model race cars will carry sponsorship from Mountaineer All-Natural Firewood, B&K Wood Products, Federated Auto Parts, Bicycle Playing Cards, Kawasaki, Wood-Mizer, and Steel City Bolt.
