Looking back at the Graham Landscape Mini Stock’s season at Sunset Speedway, here are some notable numbers to think about….
1 – Doug Butler only won one feature en route to the 2015 championship.
1 – Chad Corcoran was able to score a heat win on his July 18th appearance at Sunset Speedway.
1 – Ryan Toon and Nic Montanari each scored their only trip to Mini Stock victory lane by winning a b-main.
2 – Only two drivers scored 10 or more feature top-fives in 2015 – Butler and Jordan Howse.
2 – Miles Tyson and Justin Holmes each scored a pair of b-main victories
2 – The driver of the No. 2, Kendra Adams, has been welcomed to participate in the NASCAR Drive 4 Diversity Combine in Charlotte in November.
3 blown motors for Andy Kamrath in the span of four races. The one motor that didn’t blow? He won that race!
3 – Brandon McFerran picked up three feature victories over the course of the season
3 Fast Qualifier’s Dash victories for Kamrath and Howse led the way of all drivers.
4 – McFerran picked up four heat victories over the course of the season.
4 drivers scored more than five Fast Qualifier’s Dash top-fives
5 – Howse led the way with the most feature victories of all drivers with five on the season.
5 different drivers won a Fast Qualifier’s Dash over the course of the season.
6 different drivers won a Mini Stock feature victory over the course of the season
6th was Butler’s worst finish en route to scoring the championship.
6 heat victories for Kamrath to have the second most of all drivers over the course of the season
7 heat victories for Howse led the way of all drivers over the course of the season.
8 drivers scored 10 or more feature top-10s in 2015
8 drivers scored 10 or more heat top-fives in 2015
9 Fast Qualifier’s Dash top-fives for Kamrath led the way of all drivers over the course of the season. Notably, with nine Dash appearances, that meant he finished top-five in each appearance.
9 straight top-10s by Terry Woodley to close out the season helped him en route to finishing eighth in points. Even bigger, he got the honor of scoring his first podium finish with a second place finish in the season ending Velocity 250.
10 – Doug Butler drove his No. 10 Nissan 240SX to three heat victories in 2015.
10 – Butler and Danny Benedict made the most Fast Qualifier’s Dash appearances of their competitors with 10.
12 drivers scored at least one feature top-five in 2015
13 top-fives for Butler led the way of all drivers over the course of the season.
14 top-10s for Butler led the way of all drivers over the course of the season. With only 14 races on the calendar, that means that he was perfect.
14 heat top-fives for Howse and Butler led the way of all drivers over the course of the season. That meant they were perfect. No wonder they finished first and second in the standings.
20 – the amount of points that Butler won the championship by ahead of Howse
24 drivers scored at least one feature top-10 in 2015
26 drivers scored at least one heat top-five in 2015
33 – The No. 33 Honda Civic driven by Warren Paxton didn’t win a points feature this year, but he won one of the invitationals this year. He also won a pair of points night heat races.
35 – The No. 35 Honda Civic driven by Kamrath visited feature victory lane on three different occasions over the season.
51 – Eric Yorke drove his No. 51 Nissan to a feature victory on July 25 and three heat victories.
54 – Benedict drove the No. 54 Mustang to a feature victory on May 23 and a pair of heat victories.
88 – Consistency and perseverance with finishes each week paid off for Jake Watson and his No. 88 Mustang as five feature top-10s led to a ninth place finish in points.
