Mooresville, NC (February 3, 2016) – NASCAR NEXT driver, Nicole Behar, has joined David Gilliland Racing’s driver development program. Behar is set to compete in the No. 97 DGR, Custom Welding & Fabrication Inc. Toyota Camry Super Late Model in the 2016 CARS Tour Series.
Behar, a fifth generation driver from Otis Orchards, Washington, has been competing in the motorsports industry for almost a decade. In 2015, Nicole was named one of 12 drivers in this year’s NASCAR NEXT program.
At only 17, the young drivers list of accomplishments is quite lengthy. Despite being a young female in a man’s world, in 2015 alone, Behar was named NASCAR K&N West Most Popular Driver, finished 10th in points with two top-five’s and nine Top 10’s. In April, she became the highest-finishing female driver of the K&N West Series, finishing second at Irwindale Event Center in California.
Nicole Behar commented, “I am very excited to team up with Toyota and David Gilliland Racing for the 2016 season, providing me not only the opportunity to run the CARS Tour and PASS Series, but a great experience beneficial to my racing career. I believe that DGR has the equipment, resources and knowledge capable to run up front. Along with the full Super Late Model schedule I will be running select NASCAR K&N Pro Series races as well as some races on the west coast. We are focusing on getting me as much seat time as possible working with multiple racing series.”
The season opener is set to kick off March 5th at Dillion Motor Speedway for her first PASS South race of the year.
