Features and attractions appeal to all people
TORONTO, ONT. (Feb. 9, 2016) — With a little something for everyone, the 2016 Canadian International AutoShow is a great place to come out and celebrate Family Day.
Alongside exciting activities, prizes for the whole family and exclusive giveaways, there are the features and attractions that make the AutoShow the biggest and best consumer show in Canada.
“Today’s AutoShow offers so much more than just the newest cars on the market,” says Jason Campbell, General Manager of the AutoShow. “Between all the features and attractions, bringing the kids to the AutoShow is the perfect way to spend your Family Day.”
Start the day with the Volkswagen Family Admission Ticket — $45 for two adults and two children (aged 7-12) — so you and your whole family can experience the thrill. Children aged 6 and under get in free when accompanied by an adult.
Once inside, there is a full roster of attractions to keep everyone busy and entertained.
- The Xbox One Gaming Zone puts racing fun in the palm of your hands with the ultimate car fantasy on Forza Motorsport 6. Test your skills at the Xbox One Gaming Area on the 600 level and enter for your chance to win a Xbox One Console — only on Family Day!
- There are video game simulators throughout the AutoShow, including a Forza racing simulator at the Ford Performance Zone, and other simulators at Goodwood Kartways, Formula Drift Canada andToyota.
- The Ford Performance Zone on the 800 level will also feature a mini basketball challenge where you can shoot some hoops.
- Young performers from the Canadian Music Competition will be performing live in the Steinway Lounge in the Auto Exotica exhibit fromnoon to 5 pm on Family Day.
- Speaking of Auto Exotica, the dream cars in this exhibit are always an exciting draw for people of all ages.
- If mom and dad want to browse some of the cars and the young ones are getting restless, drop them off at the Volkswagen Children’s Playcare Centre. It offers free professional daycare service filled with exciting activities for your children – arts and crafts, interactive activities and more! The Volkswagen Children’s Playcare Centre is located on Level 600 in the South Building of the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
- For the older kids, TADA Career Start and carsandjobs.com give them an opportunity to explore possible career options in the automotive industry.
- Have some fun with the Subaru Scavenger Hunt App (for Android and iOS) and play along as you explore the Toronto International Autoshow. Follow clues, find checkpoints and earn chances to win a G Adventure tour of your choice.
- Segway Ontario will be setting up a pylon course and offering people the chance to ride on the upright, two-wheeled vehicle. Segway Ontario will be stationed on the 700 level.
- The Toronto Star booth will feature giveaways for Castrol and The Star itself.
- Leverage the Canadian International AutoShow into a bigger holiday, with a chance to win a trip to China courtesy of Mandarin Holidays,sponsored by the Canadian Cancer Society and Sing Tao Daily.
- The TADA 50K Giveaway, sponsored by The Toronto Star, is a chance to win $50,000 towards the purchase of a new vehicle at any dealer-member of the Trillium Automobile Dealers Association. Visit the Toronto Star Booth located on Level 300 in MTCC North Building to enter!
- The National Post and Toronto Sun are back with one of AutoShow’s favorite contests. This year, you could win the all-new 2016 Hyundai Tucson 1.6T Premium All Wheel Drive. The Tucson goes beyond what you would expect with an ingenious design that breaks away from convention and was re-engineered for excitement and versatility. - It’s a bird! It’s a plane! No…it’s the Allstate hero! And that hero could be YOU. How? Visit the Allstate booth in the North building to see how you can save the day. A driver has run into a huge pothole and their car is stuck. Test your strength and see if you can lift the vehicle to save the day.
- Do you have a taste for adventure? You could WIN A TRIP for 2 to Taiwan and Korea! Brought to you by Mandarin Holidays, The Flavours of Asia presented by The Scarborough Hospital Foundation, is a chance to win a trip of a lifetime — a 12-day tour exploring the beautiful mountainous landscapes of Taiwan and experiencing the thrilling food and culture of South Korea. Enter to win at the CarsandJobs.com booth located on Level 100 of the MTCC North Building.
