Welcome To 2016 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Season: The first of 23 races on the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series tour kicks off Friday, February 19 for the NextEra Energy Resources 250. The event marks the first of two superspeedway tracks in 2016.
Young’s Motorsports Returns: Young’s Motorsports returns to the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series this season hopeful to compete in their third year of competition. It will mark the team’s fifth year of participation overall dating back to their series debut at Rockingham (N.C.) Speedway in 2012.
2015 Year In Review: Mooresville, North Carolina-based Young’s Motorsports enjoyed monumental success in their sophomore season of NCWTS competition. In addition to finishing 13th in the championship standings, Young earned his first career top-10 finish at Dover (Del.) International Speedway, while backing that effort up at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway in October.
Additionally, Young also led his first lap of series competition at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway and was running at the finish of 22 of the 23 races in 2015.
Tyler At Daytona: Young’s Motorsports driver Tyler Young returns to the “World Center of Racing” aiming for his third career start at the 2.5-mile superspeedway. In his previous two runs, Young has managed a track best of 13th last February, while a 17th place qualifying run in 2014 is his best time trials effort to date at the central-Florida based track.
Busy Week For Young’s Motorsports: In addition to competing in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, Young’s Motorsports also participated in this past Sunday’s NASCAR K&N Pro Series East season-opener at New Smyrna (Fla.) Speedway with driver Reid Wilson. The team successfully qualified for the event and had a respectable lead lap finish.
No Pressure: With owner points to fall back on, Young’s Motorsports and driver Tyler Young are guaranteed to make their 57th career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Daytona. The security allows the team to utilize strategy for qualifying and the race during practice Thursday afternoon.
Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway Fast Fact: Built in 1959, Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway recently just completed the “Daytona Rising” project with $400 million worth of improvement to the track, placing emphasis on improving fan experience with five expanded and redesigned fan entrances (injectors), as well as wider and more comfortable seating with more restrooms and concession stands. The track’s grandstands will include 101,000 permanent seats with the ability to increase permanent seating to 125,000.

Chassis Intel: Andrew Abbott, crew chief of the No. 02 Randco / Young’s Building Systems Chevrolet Silverado has elected to bring chassis number 001 to the 2.5-mile superspeedway this weekend. This same truck earned Young his second career top-10 finish at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway last October.

The NextEra Energy Resources 250 (100 laps / 250 miles) is the first of 23 races on the 2016 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series schedule. Practice begins on Thursday, February 18 from 1:30 p.m. – 2:55 p.m. A final practice has been etched in from 4:00 p.m. – 4:55 p.m. Qualifying is set for race day, Friday, February 19 beginning at 4:30 p.m. The 32-truck field will take the green flag shortly after 7:30 p.m. with live coverage on FOX Sports 1, the Motor Racing Network (Radio) and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio (Satellite Radio, Channel 90).
